One of my earliest memories of being terrified was of the Wicked Witch in the Wizard of Oz! I'm pretty sure I wasn't the only one! To be honest, she still creeps me out a bit. I plan to wear this dress, an authentic recreation of a dress from the 1920s, on August 26th - the day the 19th Amendment to the United States Constitution was ratified - as a tribute to the women who were the first to vote here in the USA. I would encourage all of us to find some small way to remember the pressures and prejudices they fought to overcome. To borrow a cliché, we have come a long way, baby! Thank you enlightened ladies and gents of yesteryear!
